It’s that time of year again! Time to enjoy this spring weather and get out and enjoy the area. Living in Clarksville, we have lots of ways to enjoy the outdoors. But one of the most fun ways to enjoy a warm night with your family or friends is the Kiwanis Rodeo.
About the Kiwanis Rodeo
This rodeo is a fun destination for Clarksville natives and visitors alike. Don’t miss your chance to check it out for yourself!
The Kiwanis Rodeo will be May 17 and 18 at the Montgomery County 4-H Arena. You’ll have a chance to see some really amazing competitors in all kinds of rodeo events. This is a PRCA ProRodeo Event, so the competitors are some of the best of the best.
Here’s some of what you can expect to see when you come out to the rodeo:
- Bareback Riding – Competitors ride horses with only leather rigging to hold on to, instead of reins or a saddle. Cowboys can only use one hand to try to hold on for an eight-second ride.
- Barrel Racing – In this timed event, competitors ride their horses around 3 barrels. This event is all about speed and uses laser timers to register each competitor’s time down to the hundredth of a second. Riders who knock down a barrel receive a five-second penalty.
- Bull Riding – In the most dangerous rodeo event, competitors try to stay on a bucking bull for eight seconds. They can only use one hand to hold on to a rope with a cowbell attached.
These are only a few of the events. You can also see steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, and a clown and barrelman there to entertain the crowd.
