A bottle of wine and some smooth jazz. Sounds like a great night, doesn’t it? You can experience it at Jazz on the Lawn at Beachaven Vineyards and Winery. This annual event is free of charge and will run from May 12–Oct. 27. There are a few things you need to know about Jazz on the Lawn. Get the details and get ready to rock…or jazz.
First Come, First Served
This is the longest running outdoor musical event in Clarksville, and it’s highly popular. You know what that means. It gets crowded. The music doesn’t come on until 6:30, but people start looking for spots around 5 p.m. If you don’t want to sit in a stranger’s lap, get there a little early. If you’re there by 5, you shouldn’t have any trouble grabbing a spot.
Get Comfy
It’s Jazz on the Lawn, but that doesn’t mean you have to sit on the grass. Let’s be honest. The older you get, the less appealing that sounds. Instead of sitting directly on the ground, bring a blanket or a lawn chair. You will be so much more comfortable. Plus, you won’t be jealous of the others sitting on blankets and in chairs. Jealously and jazz don’t mix, so this is important.

Bring Food
So, not only is Jazz on the Lawn free, but you can bring a picnic with you. Now, you can’t bring alcohol, but you’re at a winery, so it’s not like you’ll have to without. There’s even a tasting bar at the event, although it will close at 7 p.m. starting in August. So, back to the food. Leave your grill at home but pack a nice meal for you and your friends. You might want to avoid crunchy potato chips, though. You’ll get a few looks if you’re crunching those chips when people are trying to listen to their jazz.
You’ll also get some looks if you get a new ride from James Corlew Chevrolet in Clarksville, Tennessee, but they’ll be looks of admiration. Everyone will love your new vehicle, and you’ll love driving it. Stop by and take a look around today. We have the perfect set of wheels here, waiting to go home with you.
