Weight Changes
The engineers experimented with different steel grades for the body frame, doors, and tailgate which resulted in the shedding of 450 lbs. from the overall weight. The Payload and tow ratings increased by a few hundred pounds as well. The Silverado’s innovative bed design is constructed in three separate pieces achieving the best in class cargo volume. This change is especially impressive to contractors who rely on their trucks to get big jobs done!
Exterior Design
One of the primary criticisms of the 2018 Silverado was that it looked too much like the previous model year. Chevrolet’s designers took the advice to heart and modernized the exterior, adding sleeker symmetry in the hood, wheel wells, and headlights. The windshield is steeper and a cabin spoiler was added for better aerodynamics. The 2019 rides an inch higher than its predecessor and the cabin was stretched, adding more room and storage space in the cabin.
Interior
The most noticeable change to the cabin occurs in the crew cab where 3 inches of legroom was added. The increase in room adds valuable space for storage when the 60/40 seats are set in an upright position. The designers also included some cool, hidden, storage spaces throughout.
Trim Levels
The 2019 Silverado comes in eight trim levels including Work Truck, Silverado Custom, Silverado Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTZ, and High Country.
Safety / Technology Features
The 2019 Silverado is roomy and features plenty of infotainment options to keep you busy on your daily commute or weekend getaway. Technology features include the Chevy MyLink infotainment system with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto capability.
